Women’s counselling centres

What do women’s counselling centres do?

Women’s counselling centres offer psychosocial counselling in all German federal states for coping with critical life situations. Amongst other things, counselling focuses on violence in relationships, separation/divorce, crisis intervention and general life coaching.

Depending on additional local services, women’s counselling centres also provide counselling on sexualised violence. In addition to individual counselling for women and their social environment, group services and counselling for professional supporters and institutions are provided.

Just like rape crisis centres, women’s counselling centres have a focus on reducing violence through prevention, public relations, further training and networking.

Promoting social equality is one goal that is pursued through prevention, public relations, further training and committee work.

The service is free of charge and anonymous if requested. The female staff members are bound by the duty of confidentiality.
