Killing of women/Femicide

Recognising high-risk cases of intimate partner violence and taking effective action

Specialist counselling centres support women affected by serious violence and attempted homicide, and ensure greater safety. In order to prevent homicides, clearly coordinated measures and cooperation on the ground are required from all support organisations.

To this end, the bff has published a comprehensive best practices handbook in collaboration with the bff "High Risk" working group involving experts in counselling women affected by violence:

Recognising and assessing threats to women as high-risk cases. Developing effective protection measures. Establishing regional co-operation and effective case management.
