Stalking

Consequences

The consequences of stalking may be serious for victims. In case of persistent pursuit, their lives increasingly change and the quality of life diminishes.

Psychological, physical and social impairments increase, for instance anxiety, feelings of helplessness, defencelessness and despair up to severe depressions. Stalking victims are afraid for their own safety. This may result in social withdrawal or even social isolation.
